Project Engineer, Civil Engineering

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a Project Engineer for our Highway/Traffic department in Boston, MA.

• Prepare and oversee roadway and highway design plans, specifications, and cost estimates
• Perform geometric design, grading, drainage coordination, and maintenance of traffic plans
• Coordinate with internal disciplines including civil/site, traffic, structural, environmental, and utility teams
• Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
• Serve as a technical resource for junior engineers and designers
• Attend client meetings and coordinate with public agencies (e.g., DOTs, counties, municipalities)
• Ensure compliance with applicable design standards and regulatory requirements
• Support proposal preparation and business development efforts as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• 6–8 years of progressive highway/roadway design experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in MA
• Experience with state DOT standards and federally funded projects preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Micro Station (Open Roads experience a plus)
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO and applicable state roadway design guidelines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

The projected compensation range for this position is $115,000 to $155,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as experience, education and skill set.
