As an Associate Physicist, you'll be an essential part of our Radiation Protection Program, helping ensure our employees work safely, our environment stays protected, and we maintain full compliance with Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) regulations and our radioactive materials license.

LocationLocation: Onsite, five days a week at our South End Boston facility. This position is onsite in Boston until the office relocates to Hopkinton, MA in August 2026.
Core Duties and Responsibilities- Perform radiation surveys in restricted and unrestricted areas using radiation/contamination instrumentation and associated equipment.
- Conduct periodic audits and assessments, including identification of ancillary hazards, remediation of hazards, and survey documentation for radiological conditions.
- Participate in emergency training and respond to site radiological emergencies.
- Prepare data for evaluating radiological investigations.
- Maintain/c alibrate portable and fixed radiological monitoring equipment.
- Perform daily effluent monitoring, bioassay processing and other routine Radiation Protection tasks.
- Provide technical recommendations to site managers and employees to minimize radiation hazards.
- Prepare evaluations and reports of RP program data as requested.
- Evaluate radiological hazards and requirements for conduct of routine and non‑routine operations.
- Associate's degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology AND a minimum of 2 years of technical experience working in a Radiation Safety program.
- OR bachelor's in science degree in nuclear engineering, science or engineering AND a minimum of 0‑1 years of technical experience working in a Radiation Safety program.
- Working knowledge of radiation protection concepts will be an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and strong written and verbal communication skills are preferred.
- May be necessary to spend several hours per day on feet in a laboratory environment.
The base salary range for this full‑time position is $67,000.00 - $80,000.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
