Position Title & Basic Details

Were seeking an Automation Engineer / Controls Programmer with experience in automotive manufacturing systems. This is a contract-based opportunity requiring 5–10+ years of experience. A bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is strongly preferred.

Overview

In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, programming, and commissioning PLC-based automation systems for high‑throughput automotive production environments. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Rockwell Automation platforms and thrives in fast‑paced manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and program PLC control systems using Rockwell Automation Control Logix® and Compact Logix® platforms
  • Develop HMI applications using Factory Talk Optix and/or Factory Talk View
  • Configure industrial networks including Ethernet/IP and related protocols
  • Commission control systems onsite and support system startup
  • Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, I/O, and communication issues
  • Support FAT/SAT, production ramp‑up, and system optimization
  • I/O lists, Network diagrams, and Test procedures
Requirements
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Technical Expertise:
    Rockwell Control Logix / Compact Logix PLCs, Factory Talk Optix and/or Factory Talk View
  • Experience:

    5–10+ years in industrial automation
  • Soft Skills:

    Strong communication, structured troubleshooting, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience
  • Safety PLC and safety circuit experience
  • Robotics and machine integration experience
