About the role:
The Development Services team is looking for one Co-op to join their team from July 2026 through December 2026. The Development Services Co-op will help with the analysis and acquisition of new solar photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage development opportunities and otherwise support our portfolio's development strategy. The Development Services Co-op will support solar PV and energy storage efforts across multiple state markets by identifying the viability of projects based on environmental factors, electrical interconnection capacity, and researching jurisdictional regulations.
The ideal candidate is one that possesses strong organizational skills, attention to detail, initiative, and strong independence producing research analysis in the workplace.
Please note that this is a Co-op position (July 2026 through December 2026). We are seeking candidates who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate bachelor’s program and are based in the Boston area. This hybrid role requires being in the office at least three (3) days per week.
What you ll do:- Utilize solar design software and GIS tools to conduct search, analysis, and preliminary design of prospective sites
- Prepare and present reports of development opportunities based on environmental, electrical, and regulatory criteria
- Contribute to early-stage development of Blue Wave s solar PV and energy storage pipelines in target markets across the US
- Track and complete tasks across the site acquisition process to ensure timely project delivery
- A team player who is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Environmental and Sustainability Science or related field
- Preference for candidates that have at least one previous co-op or work experience in a related discipline (engineering, design, construction, real estate, or energy development)
- Exposure to or familiarity with renewable energy systems
- Ability to think creatively to help streamline operations
- Experience with GIS tools, Google Earth, Google Maps, Microsoft applications, CRM platforms, and Adobe
- Excellent presentation skills; ability to deliver organized and comprehensive reports
- Interpersonal skills along with the ability to work within a fast paced, highly collaborative team environment while managing tight deadlines
- Detail-oriented and strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Self-starter with excellent organizational skills
The anticipated hourly wage for this role is $24 per hour.
