Veryst Engineering is seeking a Multiphysics Modeling and Simulation Consultant to join our team of technical experts. This role involves the application of fundamental engineering principles, modeling, and simulation to support our clients in the development and design of innovative technologies. We seek applicants with a deep background in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, electromagnetics, and chemically reacting flow. You will work on challenging projects in a diversity of industries including clean energy, consumer electronics, and medical devices.
This is a client-facing role with responsibilities that include providing clients with design recommendations, project management, report writing and presentation preparation, document review, business development, and marketing of technical services.
Position requirements:
- Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, aerospace engineering, or applied mathematics. 1-3 years of industry experience or a postdoctoral appointment are preferred, but not required.
- Strong academic record and references.
- Experience with Ansys Fluent, Star-CCM+, COMSOL, and/or other commercial simulation packages.
- Deep subject matter expertise in any of the following areas:
- Turbulent transport, mixing and multicomponent flows, compressible flow
- Heat transfer, radiation, boiling, and phase change
- Chemical reactions, catalysis, electrochemistry, reaction engineering, turbulent reacting flows, batteries, fuel cells, and molten salts
- Electromagnetics, magneto hydrodynamics, joule, induction, and RF/MW heating
- Machine learning, neural networks, artificial intelligence
- Ability to collaborate with other engineers on a range of projects that require a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical content well, including the ability to prepare presentations, reports, and publications that clearly communicate complex ideas, designs, and results
- Ability to work well both self-directed and within a team
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
