A private equity-backed developer and technology firm working at the intersection of water infrastructure and distributed energy. With active projects across the U.S., this team focuses on practical, field-ready solutions that improve legacy infrastructure while advancing decarbonization and grid resilience.
The RoleWe’re seeking a civil/structural engineer to support the deployment and standardization of infrastructure for small‑scale energy systems integrated into existing water assets. This is a hybrid role involving design oversight, site planning, contractor engagement, and cross‑functional coordination.
Ideal candidates bring structural design expertise and familiarity with water‑related or heavy civil infrastructure – especially where concrete, flow, and environmental permitting intersect. You’ll contribute both strategically and tactically to how systems are designed and implemented in the field.
Key Responsibilities- Develop or oversee civil/structural designs for field installations across water and energy projects
- Interface with engineering consultants, permitting specialists, and construction teams
- Support planning, budgeting, and design validation for multiple deployment sites
- Collaborate on system standardization and replicability across different geographies
- Coordinate structural inputs with internal product and engineering teams
- Help define construction best practices and contractor scopes of work
- 7–12 years of experience in civil or structural engineering roles, preferably in water, infrastructure, or distributed energy
- Experience designing or managing the deployment of hydraulic or water‑adjacent structures (e.g., spillways, pump stations, intakes, stormwater, canals, small dams)
- Proficient in tools like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and HEC‑RAS; experience with site‑specific permitting a plus
- PE license strongly preferred
- Track record of managing vendors, contractors, or fabricators in a field deployment context
- Able to adapt between technical design review and hands‑on implementation problem‑solving
- Familiarity with retrofit or upgrade projects involving existing infrastructure
- Understanding of permitting pathways for water‑related civil works (local/state/federal)
- Experience supporting infrastructure components in early‑stage or agile environments
This is an opportunity to play a key role in a growing company delivering real‑world impact at the intersection of infrastructure and clean energy. You’ll bring proven engineering knowledge to a team that values execution, innovation, and long‑term reliability in the field.
