Operations Engineer, GES NA Ops Engineering

Overview

Global Engineering Services (GES) North America (NA) Operations Engineering (Ops Eng) is seeking an innovative and solutions-oriented Operations Engineer to root cause, solve, and scale systemic engineering challenges in First and Middle Mile Operations.

If leading engineering projects among world-class talent excites you and you want to contribute to sortation and logistics systems within a multinational company, this role offers high ownership in solving complex problems and opportunities to troubleshoot and systematize solutions for systems and processes that leverage automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies and robotics.

• Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop, monitor, and innovate cost-effective solutions for sortation and distribution systems.
• Coordinate efforts to develop optimal solutions and processes for the sortation and transportation network through process design, site layout, and IP considerations.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions within tight timelines.
• Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors, and vendors.
• Communicate effectively to execute the vision, align on a detailed roadmap, and implement specific technical solutions.
• Travel occasionally to support work across regions.

Role requires 50 - 70% regional travel. Availability to work from a corporate office when not traveling. Candidates should live near or be willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance of the office. Relocation assistance may be provided.

You will work with a team of highly skilled engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment, contributing to hundreds of projects each year and engaging in high-impact, high-visibility initiatives.

• 4+ years in industrial, operations, manufacturing, or project engineering in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at an intermediate level
• Experience working with and managing third-party vendors
• Experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing
• Experience developing and implementing standards, policies, and programs or equivalent
• Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and high-speed manufacturing systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

• Master’s degree or above in engineering or related STEM field
• Experience with MHE safety standards per OEM requirements
• Experience collecting requirements, describing software features, and designing technical solutions with customers and teams
• Capital project management experience for engineering design projects
• Experience with design-in-safety
• Experience collaborating directly with engineering teams
