Lead Network Engineer

Overview

Lead Network Engineer position with focus on CISCO networking. Top skills include extensive network engineering experience, CCIE certification in Routing & Switching, and strong data communications & network infrastructure installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Also involves network planning, implementation, and documentation, along with evaluating and guiding for new networking equipment and strategy.

• Assist in coordinating and implementing data communication systems.
• Troubleshoot problems, diagnose issues quickly and correctly, and communicate solutions to co-workers or end-users.
• Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of network equipment.
• Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards for procurement and development efforts.
• Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
• Contribute to efficient operation of the Data-Communications network by monitoring activity to identify problems in a timely manner.
• Communicate with Data-Communication vendors to facilitate resolution of circuit or hardware problems.
• Produce clear, concise, and timely documentation of all network problems.
• Maintain current knowledge of teleprocessing-network concepts and hardware alternatives through continuing education and training.
• Plan and coordinate the movement, placement, installation and cabling of data communications equipment.
• Assist in the development of direction for telecommunication implementation of total network services.
• Assist in site visits and walkthroughs to assess network infrastructure, provide recommendations, and address logistical needs during visits.
• Evaluate new construction projects and new locations for network recommendations and implementation.
• Drive a company or personal vehicle to visit work sites and assist at emergencies and/or events as needed.

• Must be able to work on site.
• CCIE in Cisco Routing & Switching.

This is a Contract position based out of Boston, MA.

The pay range for this position is $86.00 - $90.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. This is a hybrid position in Boston, MA.
