Systems Engineer
Overview
Lead Network Engineer position with focus on CISCO networking. Top skills include extensive network engineering experience, CCIE certification in Routing & Switching, and strong data communications & network infrastructure installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Also involves network planning, implementation, and documentation, along with evaluating and guiding for new networking equipment and strategy.
Responsibilities- Assist in coordinating and implementing data communication systems.
- Troubleshoot problems, diagnose issues quickly and correctly, and communicate solutions to co-workers or end-users.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of network equipment.
- Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards for procurement and development efforts.
- Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
- Contribute to efficient operation of the Data-Communications network by monitoring activity to identify problems in a timely manner.
- Communicate with Data-Communication vendors to facilitate resolution of circuit or hardware problems.
- Produce clear, concise, and timely documentation of all network problems.
- Maintain current knowledge of teleprocessing-network concepts and hardware alternatives through continuing education and training.
- Plan and coordinate the movement, placement, installation and cabling of data communications equipment.
- Assist in the development of direction for telecommunication implementation of total network services.
- Assist in site visits and walkthroughs to assess network infrastructure, provide recommendations, and address logistical needs during visits.
- Evaluate new construction projects and new locations for network recommendations and implementation.
- Drive a company or personal vehicle to visit work sites and assist at emergencies and/or events as needed.
- Must be able to work on site.
- CCIE in Cisco Routing & Switching.
This is a Contract position based out of Boston, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $86.00 - $90.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
