Energy Discipline Leader – Boston, MA – Dewberry
We are seeking an Energy Discipline Leader to grow energy utility clients throughout the Boston Region by mobilizing, energizing, and organizing cross‑functional teams to win and deliver complex contracts. The role requires seasoned project management skills, construction administration experience, and the ability to mentor and train staff within commercial infrastructure, gas, electric utility, and renewables channels.
Travel to other Dewberry offices, client sites, government agencies and project sites is required.
Responsibilities- Contribute to overall business development strategy, maintain key relationships, and lead project pursuits.
- Develop responses to RFPs and qualifications, including cost proposals.
- Meet with prospective and existing clients to capture new business.
- Serve as the technical lead for energy projects.
- Act as senior project manager for gas and electrical utility infrastructure.
- Collaborate with and manage multi‑discipline technical teams and subconsultants.
- Manage project financials, invoicing, and collections.
- Coordinate staff and task scheduling.
- Provide project strategy and technical guidance to staff and subconsultants.
- Manage and perform engineering/design quality‑control reviews.
- Mentor and train junior team members.
- Collaborate proactively with other groups and company offices.
- BS in Engineering with 10+ years of engineering and project management experience directly related to large utility infrastructure projects.
- In-depth knowledge of the energy utility market.
- Professional Engineer license in MA (desired).
- Proven expertise in managing high‑performing teams and executing strategies that support regional and national goals.
- Excellent strategic development, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated project management success for projects for private and public utility clients such as National Grid or Eversource.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (local travel required).
$190,000 – $240,000 annually (may vary based on skills, experience, and market conditions).
