The Operator under direction of the Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager will perform daily operations and maintenance activities at the treatment facilities and pump stations, with supervision, operations/monitoring/maintenance, and housekeeping of the facilities in accordance with contract requirements.
Activities include:- The operation and monitoring of the Pumping station and the satellite pumping stations and all associated components.
- Monitor the SCADA system.
- Daily inspection of facility.
- Maintaining communications with project personnel.
- Preventive maintenance activities and data entry and report generation, including data for preparing the Monthly Operating Report.
- Monitor and control assigned tasks to ensure cost-effective service to meet budget, and will serve as an integral team member with the project staff and management.
- Comply with all company Health and Safety procedures and policies.
- Coordinate with plant personnel, ensuring that other facility employees follow established administrative, safety, operating, and maintenance policies.
- Operators work a 12‑hour shift that covers a 2‑week cycle as illustrated below:
Overtime for any hours over 40. - Week 1 – Saturday:
Midnight‑Noon, Sunday:
Midnight‑Noon, Off Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday:
Midnight‑Noon, Thursday:
Midnight‑Noon, Friday Off - Total Hours 48 (8 hours OT and time and a half) - Week 2 – Saturday and Sunday Off, Monday:
Midnight‑Noon, Tuesday:
Midnight‑Noon, Wednesday and Thursday Off, Friday:
Noon‑Midnight - Total Hours 36
- Must possess proficiency with computers, including an ability to work with: SCADA, Microsoft Word, Excel, Maintenance Management Programs, and other site specific systems.
- High School Graduate or Equivalent.
- A minimum of five years of professional experience in the operation and maintenance of a water or wastewater treatment facility is desired.
- Possess and maintain, a minimum of a Massachusetts Grade 4M Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator’s License.
- Valid Massachusetts Driver's License required.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.
$25 - $33 an hour
Depending on qualifications and experience.
