Overview
Parsons is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our Bridge groups in Boston, MA or Hartford, CT. We design and build bridges including Arch Bridges, Beam Bridges, Cantilever Bridges, Suspension Bridges, Cable-Stayed Bridges, Tied-Arch Bridges, and Truss Bridges. The role supports a dynamic, team-oriented environment with strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities- Design engineering of bridges and structures for road & highway and transit systems in MA and the New England region.
- Perform complex engineering tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Extract engineering information from CAD drawings.
- Prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
- Complete drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction.
- Interface with other engineering disciplines and departments.
- Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
- Review supplier drawing submittals and perform technical bid analyses.
- Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
- Provide technical guidance to CAD designers/drafters, designers, and lower-level engineers on the project.
- May seal and sign the professional engineer document as appropriate, ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and ordinances.
- Advise senior management on engineering-related matters as needed.
- Commitment to quality and continuous improvement through innovation and improved results.
- 8 or more years of related work experience.
- BS in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis; MS in Structural Engineering is desirable.
- Professional Engineer registration is preferred.
- Working knowledge of state Bridge Design Manuals is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with MS Office, industry-standard bridge design and analysis software, and AutoCAD or Micro Station.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Good leadership and emotional intelligence skills.
