Senior Project Manager (Wet Utilities)
The role involves working on design and supervision projects associated with wastewater, stormwater, and water engineering. It includes investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration, and construction management. Key accountabilities include:
Responsibilities- Project delivery planning and control.
- Determine budgets, timelines, and cost estimates for project design and construction.
- Management of project financials.
- Development of project programs and project execution plans.
- Internal and external project reporting.
- Contract management and reporting, including preparation of claims and variation orders, and extensions of time for projects.
- Overseeing the construction phase and liaising with contractors and developers.
- Prepare contracts and manage sub‑consultants.
- Quality and HSE assurance.
- Ensure the project budget and schedule are followed.
- Understanding of client requirements and processes.
- Managing in coordination with design managers all stages of the design process from concept to detailed design, and tender.
- Review key project deliverables, including key technical reports or submittals.
- Handling project correspondence.
- Work in conjunction with engineers to solve project design problems.
- Liaise with the different teams working to facilitate completion of tasks and the project.
- Good communicator.
- Prepare level of effort and price proposals for different types of proposals, including design, construction supervision, and owner engineer for public and private clients.
- Manage in coordination with the technical and marketing team all deliverables related to proposals.
- Client and stakeholders management, communication, and liaison.
- Internal and external client liaison.
- Ability to build and maintain lasting and positive relationships.
- Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
- Design for safety, i.e. construction design management.
- 18–20 years of minimum experience, including 5 years of consultancy experience in the design of wet utilities projects from top international engineering consulting design firms in Dubai.
- Must have experience working with Dubai Municipality and private developers’ projects in Dubai.
- Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
- Chartered ICE or PE engineer.
- Professional certification or a degree in project management.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to manage a heavy workload with close attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Ability to work autonomously, reviewing your work on a regular basis while consistently meeting your objectives.
- Strong team‑working capabilities. Committed to working with all levels of management on a daily and ongoing basis.
- A proactive approach, working effectively in coordinating activities and complex tasks, taking professional responsibility in all matters.
- High caliber: punctual, attentive, and competent in adhering to company policies, procedures, and working practices.
