Traffic Project Manager

A Traffic Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the smooth flow of transportation projects, coordinating various teams and stakeholders involved, ensuring timely completion of tasks, and managing traffic control plans to minimize disruptions during construction phases, all while adhering to project timelines and budgets.

In this role you will work on various transportation projects with state and local transportation agencies. As a Traffic Project Manager, you will perform engineering analysis and supporting calculations/documentation relating to traffic safety and operations. You will also coordinate the drafting of project deliverables for various clients. The ideal candidate has experience with traffic and safety and comprehensive knowledge of local and MassDOT standards.

Location

This position will have a hybrid work schedule and, when in the office, will work from our Boston, MA office.

The Impact You Will Have
  • Create and execute project work plans.
  • Manage project analysis and deliverables.
  • Work in a collaborative environment, with team members, senior staff, and external clients.
  • Interact with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders, including the DOT.
  • Represent our firm at industry and professional engagement events.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 10 years of diverse and progressive civil transportation and traffic engineering experience.
  • Licensed PE in the state of MA
  • PTOE License preferred.
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience working with public agencies and/or municipalities. MassDOT experience is preferred.
  • Progressive experience with developing plans analysis and reports per DOT standards and requirements.
  • Excellent communication and client relation skills.
  • Strong organization skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules.
  • Advanced use of project-specific software such as CADD, Synchro, GIS, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner.
  • Willingness to work at client sites, as needed, as an extension of client staff.
