Responsibilities- This is a full-time position performing survey field work in a supporting role under the guidance of a party chief. The position may also involve performing survey field work in a leading role when needed, either working independently or with an instrument operator.
- Candidates will interact with office staff and the management team as needed.
- Candidates can expect to work on a wide variety of survey projects in different sectors such as commercial, transportation, environmental, industrial, institutional, and energy projects.
- Candidates can expect to work on project sites within the greater Boston Area, the entire state of Massachusetts, and occasionally outside this area with travel as required.
- Candidates will utilize a variety of survey instruments and other equipment to obtain measurements and perform field surveys.
- Candidates will prepare notes and sketches in a clear and legible manner.
- Candidates may interact with clients and the public while in the field and need to represent WSP in a positive and professional manner.
- Candidates may be asked to perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- Candidates are required to exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- High School diploma or GED required; higher education in land surveying or an associated field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in land surveying and geospatial services.
- Basic knowledge of common survey equipment, practices, and procedures.
- A willingness to learn.
- Successful completion and passing of WSP's Motor Vehicle and Background screening.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, detail oriented and organized.
- Ability to work independently with supervision or as part of a team to complete field tasks.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of this position, including walking long distances and carrying equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and out-of-town work as required by project needs.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a closely related discipline.
- OSHA 10 or other safety training certifications.
- Progressing toward LSIT or CST certifications.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, LECIA Infinity or other drafting/data processing programs.

CompensationExpected Salary (all locations): $47,700 - $78,760
