Job Summary: Reporting to the Senior Director for Undergraduate Education, the Undergraduate Engineering Program Manager is responsible for administration of the undergraduate engineering degrees in SEAS, including all Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science programs; serving as the first point of contact to advise pre‑concerners interested in the engineering programs; supporting the academic policy work of the Undergraduate Engineering Committee;
and overseeing and executing the ABET accreditation process for Bachelor of Science programs in SEAS.
- Pre‑concerners advising. Plan and oversee SEAS pre‑concerners advising events for all undergraduate programs, coordinate with the College’s Academic Programs Office and first‑year advising schedule. Serve as the first point of contact for Harvard College students interested in joining the undergraduate engineering programs, represent the engineering programs at advising events, host office hours, answer emails, and update advising documentation. Administratively oversee the concentration declaration process and process declarations approved by program faculty.
Provide curriculum content expertise and resources for engineering faculty advisors. - Academic administration. Work with the engineering faculty directors of undergraduate studies (DUS) and the undergraduate engineering programs advisors (ADUS) to assign faculty advisors, track degree progress in the my.harvard Academic Advising Report (AAR), coordinate course petitions, execute course exception requests, submit graduation recommendations to the FAS Registrar, annually update degree requirements in the College Handbook and my.harvard AAR system, and collect grades for the ES 91r Supervised Reading and Research course.
- Curricular oversight. Track curricular updates with faculty, ensure compliance with all relevant guidance and policies, serve as subject matter expert on academic policy related to undergraduate concentrations, and prepare materials for faculty committee meetings regarding conferring of degrees.
- Educational committee administration. Lead the Undergraduate Engineering Committee (UEC) by setting the agenda, preparing materials, interpreting and developing curricular policies, and leading UEC meetings.
- Accreditation administration. Oversee and execute the annual ABET continuous improvement process and the 6‑year ABET accreditation review cycle, including collecting assessment data, ensuring compliance with ABET criteria, co‑authoring the self‑study report, and preparing for the accreditation visit.
- Staff management. Manage one direct report within the Office of Academic Programs supporting undergraduate degree programs and course administration.
