Jacobs is seeking an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our Boston office and support the design and analysis of foundation systems, retaining structures, and slopes for transportation infrastructure projects.

• Perform geotechnical engineering design and analysis of foundation systems, retaining structures, and slopes for public and private transportation infrastructure projects.
• Analyze shallow and deep foundations, including piles and drilled shafts, retaining walls, and excavation support systems.
• Inspect geotechnical exploratory activities and construction processes, ensuring compliance with design requirements.
• Develop and oversee subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and global delivery teams to deliver engineering solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Working knowledge of soil mechanics theory and laboratory testing techniques.
• Engineer‑In‑Training certificate.
• Master of Science in Civil Engineering (beneficial but not required).
• 0–2 years of design experience in a consulting/contracting environment.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel for work.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer proficiency, including CADD and Microsoft Office.
• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• MS degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Previous internship in geotechnical evaluations, soil and rock classification, or foundation design.
• Familiarity with geotechnical analysis software such as Ensoft APile, LPile, Geo Studio, Rocscience SLIDE, GRLWeap, Deep Ex, Bentley gINT/Open ground, and AutoCAD.
• Python programming and application of AI/ML in civil engineering (advantageous).
• Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
