Why we need you: in response to growing opportunities in our biopharmaceutical, food, and chemical markets, we seek a driven Process Project Engineer specializing in plant systems, with knowledge of pharmaceutical validation processes desired. The role includes developing P&IDs, equipment and piping specifications, hydraulic sizing, and heat transfer calculations, plus attending design meetings, performing field surveys, facilitating Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), fielding vendor quotations, and reviewing vendor submittals.
Project roles may range from consulting to detailed design, commissioning, and startup services depending on project requirements.
- Develop P&’s, equipment and piping specifications, complete hydraulic sizing, and heat transfer calculations.
- Attend design meetings and perform field surveys.
- Facilitate Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).
- Field vendor quotations and review vendor submittals.
- Support project roles that may include consulting, detailed design, commissioning, and startup services based on project requirements.
- BS in Chemical Engineering, Biological Systems Engineering, or similar from an ABET accredited program.
- 8+ years of experience in a consulting environment designing Chemical Process systems or leading design projects in the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Experience communicating with clients, partners and individuals at all levels within an organization.
- Knowledge of piping systems and unit operations as applied to pharmaceutical, food, and chemical processing.
- Understanding of applicable design codes, standards and specification requirements, and ability to interpret them.
- Professional engineering registration.
- Detailed, hands-on knowledge of PLC or DCS control systems.
- Experience with industrial networks and communication protocols.
- Ability to travel for client meetings, field surveys, commissioning, and startup support.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Quick technical comprehension and motivation focused on client outcomes.
