OverviewIn this role you will lead the architecture and design of silicon systems for novel Life Sciences platforms. You will apply expertise in silicon technologies, especially analog, mixed-signal, and digital CMOS, to develop, prototype, and scale innovative sensing and actuation solutions.
Responsibilities- Work with a skilled multi-disciplinary team to define system requirements
- Develop system simulation models in MATLAB- or Python-like scientific computing environments
- Develop and test pre-CMOS evaluation prototypes
- Develop an overall architecture for the analog, mixed-signal, and/or digital CMOS integrated circuits
- Collaborate with the team to design CMOS detailed circuits
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement post-CMOS fabrication and assembly requirements
- Collaborate with biologists, biochemists, rapid prototyping, and evaluation engineers to test the system meets desired requirements
- Conduct research in new areas of physical sciences relevant to Analog Devices technologies, identify pain-points, propose candidate solutions, develop system implementation concepts, and evaluate them with simulation and/or experiments
- PhD in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (or master's/bachelor's degree with additional industrial experience)
- Lead for one or more CMOS tapeouts, including architecture, design, physical implementation, and chip evaluation
- Demonstrated ability to work across physical disciplines, such as biomedical, chemical, mechanical, physics, and/or electrical engineering
- Track record of innovation, IP, and/or publications in electronic systems with post-CMOS or special assembly requirements
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative, persistent approach to complex technical challenges
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Experience with array/periphery CMOS architectures such as imagers or memories
- Interest and ability to work across all layers of the design stack, from conceptualization to implementation, to evaluation, to scaling to high-volume production
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more silicon-related technology areas beyond circuit design, such as electromagnetics, optical, electrochemistry, MEMS, etc.
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more computational areas, such as signal processing, optimization, AI/ML, or other algorithms topics
- Familiarity with semiconductor cleanroom equipment and processes
- Familiarity with semiconductor assembly and packaging technologies
- Familiarity with one or more areas in Biological Sciences
- Strong hands-on technical skills, but also maintains a research orientation and is interested to keep up with scientific and industrial literature
