WSP is currently searching for a Bridge Inspection Team Leader, Senior Structural Engineer to join our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team in New England (Boston, MA; Worcester, MA; Glastonbury, CT; Merrimack, NH; Providence, RI).
Your Impact- Work with our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team on a variety of inspection-related projects.
- Serve as a Team Leader on Bridge, Tunnel & Ancillary Inspections.
- Perform professional structural engineering work and inspections.
- Assist in the preparation of Bridge & Tunnel Load Ratings.
- Assist with the development of plans/sketches using AutoCAD.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute project work.
- Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers.
- Support engineering tasks such as project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
- Support preparation of cost proposals and scope of work documents; assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
- Complete training on assignment‑specific tasks and remain current in the latest structural engineering techniques and practices.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company resources and conduct; adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in bridge, tunnel, or ancillary inspection/design or other infrastructure‑related work.
- Engineer in Training Certification (PE Preferred).
- Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, and design/build application.
- Demonstrated interest in structures, transportation, or related fields with a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work.
- Physically capable of continuous field work, including working at heights, in close quarters, climbing, carrying ladders, and working in adverse weather and nighttime conditions.
- Ability to work 50% of the time in the field and 50% in the office.
- Successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Record check and a valid Driver’s License.
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to express ideas effectively to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
- Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members.
- Advanced proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, and technology tools.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Occasional travel, including possible overnight stays, may be required depending on project‑specific needs.
- Professional Engineer Certification.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Active membership in or participation with local professional practice organizations.
- Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.

CompensationExpected Salary (all locations): $103,500 – $175,230. WSP reserves the right to pay more or less within this range based on education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
