About the RoleCHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join our Power & Manufacturing – Generation & Energy Management Team at our offices in Boston, MA;
Norwell, MA;
Burlington, MA; or Hartford, CT
. The role focuses on commissioning HVAC, lighting, power, and building automation systems for energy conservation projects, helping clients transition to cleaner energy sources.
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of projects independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff.
- Apply advanced judgment and analysis techniques for design development, implementation, and technical analysis of various systems.
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical review of their work as needed.
- Recommend alterations to development and design to improve product quality and procedures.
- Continuously monitor progress and performance of engineering design development against the project work plan.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of discipline‑specific engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge and proven ability to practically apply engineering best practices.
- Experience with HVAC systems, water‑side and air‑side systems, testing, and Building Automation Systems (BAS) (required).
- Knowledge of life safety, plumbing, LEED, envelope commissioning, lighting, and power systems (a plus).
- Leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Active role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred.
- Certified Building Commissioning Professional (a plus).
$100,000 - $120,000 per year. Salary is based on qualifications, experience, education, licenses, and fair market evaluation.
