CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join our Power & Manufacturing – Generation & Energy Management Team at our offices in Boston, MA;
Norwell, MA;
Burlington, MA; or Hartford, CT
. The role focuses on commissioning HVAC, lighting, power, and building automation systems for energy conservation projects, helping clients transition to cleaner energy sources.

• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of projects independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff.
• Apply advanced judgment and analysis techniques for design development, implementation, and technical analysis of various systems.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical review of their work as needed.
• Recommend alterations to development and design to improve product quality and procedures.
• Continuously monitor progress and performance of engineering design development against the project work plan.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of discipline‑specific engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge and proven ability to practically apply engineering best practices.
• Experience with HVAC systems, water‑side and air‑side systems, testing, and Building Automation Systems (BAS) (required).
• Knowledge of life safety, plumbing, LEED, envelope commissioning, lighting, and power systems (a plus).
• Leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Active role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred.
• Certified Building Commissioning Professional (a plus).

$100,000 - $120,000 per year. Salary is based on qualifications, experience, education, licenses, and fair market evaluation.
