Job Description
Full‑time/regular position in BOSTON, MA at Boston University Libraries. Salary Grade: $20.00‑$23.00.
This role provides responsive customer service to the University and extended visitor communities, delivering library services, resources, collections, and equipment at one or more of the libraries’ service points.
Schedule
- East Campus (Evening) – Eligible for shift differential
- Academic year schedule:
Sunday‑Thursday 3:15 PM‑11:15 PM (Pardee Management Library) - Summer schedule:

Responsibilities
- Interact with faculty, students, and patrons concerning all circulation functions including loans, reserves, consortial resources, fines, missing items, and interlibrary loan.
- Answer questions about access to materials, demonstrate how to find journal articles, and refer patrons to librarians for consultations and research support.
- Complete book searching, shelving, statistics collection, financial transactions, sorting & delivery of library materials, and maintain the physical condition of collections.
- Assist in supervising and training student employees, guide assignment of work and provide assistance as needed.
- Assist with special projects such as stacks maintenance, storage retrieval, shelf‑reading, lost/missing item resolution, mail delivery, and statistics tracking.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1‑3 years of relevant experience.
