Student: 1 adult (female) who's recently relocated to the US

Location:

Close to the intersection between Jamaica way and Bynner St. The student is flexible and will be happy to meet the teacher some place else in the city.

Preferred start date:
March 2026

Schedule:

Flexible; to be discussed with the teacher

Lesson Frequency:
As frequent as possible

• Student's language needs and goals:
  To overcome speaking barriers and feel confident communicating in everyday situations. The learner wants to easily follow and participate in conversations and develop natural fluency for real-life interactions. Improving conversation skills, verb tense usage, and expanding on more advanced communication vocabulary, and slang.
• Learning preferences:
  Prefers lessons with a clear structure and defined stages but not overly rigid. Enjoys practical learning and vocabulary expansion over heavy grammar focus. Likes a mix of conversation and exercises but not game-based learning. Appreciates knowing what to expect in each lesson and tracking progress clearly.
• Interests:
  Music, singing, fashion, and animals.
• Previous language learning experience:
  Studied languages at school; disliked the heavy grammar focus and preferred learning new words and practicing speaking.

Delivering tailored, dynamic, effective, and engaging lessons

Developing curricula based on learners’ proficiency level and desired outcomes

Monitoring students’ progress and guiding learners toward learning goals

Communicating in an efficient, effective, and professional manner

Native or near-native written and spoken proficiency in the target language

Certificate or degree in language teaching, education, instructional design, writing, language, linguistics, second language acquisition, or related field

Minimum of two years of teaching experience
