Boston Public Schools (BPS) seeks an exceptional 0.5
FTE PART-TIME Reading Teacher with an SEI Endorsement who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. Reports to:
Principal/Head of School
- Teach Reading in an SEI setting.
- Creatively provide an interdisciplinary course of study that incorporates state curricular frameworks.
- Be in alignment with skills and content embodied in the school’s curriculum map.

- Education:
Hold a Bachelor’s degree. - Licensure:
Hold a valid Massachusetts Teaching License in Reading (All Levels) and an SEI Endorsement or ESL license at the appropriate grade level. - Meet all state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
- Meet the Standards of Effective Teaching established by BPS.
- Current authorization to work in the United States.
- Experience teaching in urban schools.
- Degree in Education.
- Fluency in one of BPS's official languages:
Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali. - Certified in moderate disabilities or English as a Second Language at the appropriate grade level(s).
