Overview
We are seeking an outstanding candidate for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Counseling, School Psychology and Sport (CSPS) in the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) at the University of Massachusetts Boston to begin September 1, 2026. The successful candidate will be an innovative and equity-minded scholar engaged in research excellence with integrated scholarship across disciplines (e.g., counseling psychology, mental health counseling, school psychology, and/or sport) and will pursue evidence-based solutions benefiting individuals in high-need and urban communities.
The position favors a demonstrated interest in community-engaged research aligned with the college mission and university strategic plan.

Required Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate from an APA-accredited Counseling Psychology program.
- Master’s degree from an accredited counseling or mental health program or related field.
- Licensed or license-eligible as a Licensed Psychologist/Health Services Provider in Massachusetts.

The Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program is housed in CSPS and includes two APA-accredited doctoral programs, MPCAC- and NASP-accredited master’s and Ed.S. programs, and related programs as described in the original posting. UMass Boston expects to pay within an approximate range between $80,000 and $85,850 for this position. The final pay will be determined by the University based on all relevant factors when an offer is extended. Exceptional candidates may be considered for salaries above the published range in the interest of competitiveness.
