We are currently seeking a full-time Visual Arts teacher to begin in fall 2026. The position involves teaching primarily Lower School (grades 5‑8), covering topics including drawing, painting, printmaking, digital media, sculpture and clay. Experience teaching both analog and digital photography is preferred. The position also includes ancillary duties as assigned.
Responsibilities- Teach Lower School Visual Arts courses (grades 5‑8) covering drawing, painting, printmaking, digital media, sculpture, and clay.
- Integrate analog and digital photography into the curriculum when appropriate.
- Perform ancillary duties assigned by the department head.
- Five years of teaching experience, preferably at the independent school level.
- Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts or related field.
- Preference for teaching students in grades 5‑12.
- Commitment to community and inclusion work, and understanding of the importance of teacher engagement in community life.
- Interest in using a variety of pedagogical approaches in the classroom.
- Ability to use technology effectively in the teaching and learning process.
- Experience with a teaching artist role.
