Overview
Our client is looking for a Community Marketing Manager to help build and scale a developer-focused community from the ground up
. This role will be responsible for designing the foundational community strategy, programs, and engagement framework for a global audience of developers and data practitioners. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who has built or scaled technical communities in SaaS, data, infrastructure, or developer platforms and is excited to establish new programs and structures in a high-growth environment.
- Design and build a global technical community program from the ground up, including strategy, structure, governance, and engagement frameworks.
- Develop initiatives that drive awareness, adoption, and advocacy among developers, data engineers, and technical practitioners.
- Establish communication cadences, content programs, and recognition systems to foster high-trust, high-value community participation.
- Create and oversee technical content across blogs, forums, newsletters, social platforms, and third-party channels to support learning and knowledge-sharing.
- Recruit, enable, and mentor community leaders and ambassadors to drive regional meetups, workshops, and activations aligned with industry events.
- Translate community insights into product and go-to-market recommendations, surfacing feedback and high-intent signals to product, marketing, and sales teams.
- Partner cross-functionally with product marketing, growth, and sales to integrate community programs into broader marketing and adoption strategies.
- Define success metrics and reporting frameworks to measure community impact on product adoption, retention, and pipeline.
- Experience building or scaling developer or technical communities, ideally within SaaS, data platforms, infrastructure, or developer tooling ecosystems.
- Familiarity with developer-centric communities similar to Salesforce Trailblazers, Snowflake Data Heroes, or open-source communities.
- Demonstrated ability to create structured community programs (ambassador programs, forums, events, technical content, learning initiatives) rather than only moderating existing communities.
- Experience partnering with product, engineering, marketing, and sales stakeholders to influence go-to-market strategy.
- Strong experience with community platforms and channels (e.g., Slack, Discord, Discourse, Circle, Git Hub, social platforms).
- Comfortable working in ambiguous, early-stage environments where programs are being built from scratch.
- Background in developer marketing, product marketing, or growth marketing
- Experience working with data engineers, analytics teams, or developer audiences
- Experience launching ambassador or champions programs
