Youth Aerial Dance Instructor, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance
We are looking for an experienced aerial dance instructor to teach youth classes on Saturday afternoons. There may also be opportunities to teach private lessons, duets, or small groups.
Location & ScheduleBoston, MA – Part‑time position, teaching on Saturday afternoons.
Classes Covered- Youth Aerial Silks, Beginner 01 (1/31‑2/28) & Beginner 02 (3/21‑4/18)
- Youth Aerial Silks, Intermediate 01 (1/31‑2/28) & Intermediate 02 (3/21‑4/18)
• Design, deliver and assess aerial dance lessons focusing on confidence, self‑esteem, strength and flexibility using aerial silks.
• Adapt instruction for individual learners and small groups.
• Maintain a safe practice environment and adhere to safety protocols.
• Participate in pre‑ and post‑class setup and clean‑up.
• Communicate progress and any concerns to department staff.
• Proven experience teaching aerial dance or acrobatic disciplines to youth.
• Strong knowledge of aerial silks techniques, safety, and injury prevention.
• Ability to read and adapt to the skill level of children.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Current CPR/first‑aid certification preferred but not required.
Starting pay ranges from $40 to $45 per hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the university's pay structure.
