Lecturer, Romance Studies, College of Arts & Sciences
Department of Romance Studies at Boston University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Spanish, beginning July 1, 2026.
Position type:
Full-Time/Regular. Salary: $72,000.
Location:
Boston, MA.
- Teach six courses per year, from beginner to advanced language and culture.
- Coordinate multi-section language courses.
- Contribute to curriculum development in a dynamic and collaborative language program.
- Proficiency in Portuguese is a plus.
- Native or near‑native proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Master’s degree or PhD in Spanish, Language Acquisition, or a related field.
- At least three years of college‑level teaching experience demonstrating excellence.
- Commitment to inclusive and innovative language teaching practices.
- Cover letter explaining interest and qualifications.
- Curriculum vitae.
- Statement of teaching philosophy addressing inclusive teaching.
- Two sample syllabi.
- Names and email addresses for three references.
- Other materials (letters of reference, course evaluations, video of class session) may be requested later.
