Teacher Kennedy Center
• Charlestown, MA, US
The goal of this position is to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for the Kennedy Center's Head Starts Extended Day, Toddler, Pre School and School Age Child Care services and assure compliance with all licensing and accreditation sources. To be a member of the Children's Services team, and to stay current on regulations, standards and policies.
Responsibilities- Assist the teaching team with maintaining a safe, healthy learning environment.
- Complete accurate documentation of children’s developmental progress.
- Assist in planning, creating and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum based on children’s strengths, needs and interests.
- Support parents and provide resources and make referrals as needed.
- Provide accurate documentation to the Children's Services management team.
- All other duties as assigned by the Education Coordinator and Director of Children's Services.

Required Competencies- The ability to implement knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate curriculum into daily practices.
- The ability to follow guidelines defined by Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC Accreditation Standards and EEC regulations.
- The ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, community resources, and consumers of Kennedy Center's services. The ability to submit required documentation in a timely manner.
- Ability to use and manage technology to collect, organize, store, and use data for ongoing operations such as data collection for client records, progress reporting, and reporting to funding sources.
- The ability to provide leadership and supervise a teaching team.
- The ability to use technology for routine electronic communication with supervisors, families, and coworkers.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- The ability to effectively manage many and at times competing demands.
- Sensitivity to issues of concern to all families.
- Understanding of poverty as a complex public policy, social and economic issue.
- Associate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in ECE or related field
- Minimum of Teacher qualification from EEC
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a licensed early childhood education program.
