The Assistant Director for Student Engagement plays an integral role in empowering student leaders, developing equity through policies and operations, and supporting the co-curricular environment of the law school.
This role oversees 50+ student organizations and budgets ranging from $500 to $200,000, revising policies and developing annual training and leadership transitions with a focus on equity and inclusion.
Location in the Student Affairs Office places this as a largely in-person role, with potential flexibility based on staffing. Occasional night and weekend responsibilities are required. The team prioritizes professional growth and a collaborative culture.

Responsibilities- Directly engage and advise 50+ student organizations, supporting leadership development and equity in our community.
- Oversee organizations with budgets ranging from $500 to $200,000; revise and implement policies to support events and experiences.
- Develop annual training and leadership transitions; ensure high standards of equity and care in engagement work.
- Contribute to equity and inclusion initiatives within the team and among students.
- Maintain attention to detail, responsiveness, and clear, consistent communication.
- Collaborate within a student-centered team and participate in in-person and flexible work arrangements as staffing permits.
- Assist in planning events and activities that align with the School of Law mission and student needs.
- Bachelor s degree with 3 years of full-time experience in student activities; or an advanced degree in Higher Education, Law, or related field with at least 1 year of higher education experience
- Experience in student activities or as a student leader
- Competency in identifying and developing resources for individual and group programming
- Experience with program planning, operations, and event management
- Ability to quickly master new technologies, including student engagement systems
- Experience facilitating trainings and discussions
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals and groups of diverse identities
- Experience with budgeting and oversight of budgets
- Understanding of how student leadership advances equity in legal study and practice
- Commitment to developing and continuously improving systems, processes, and technologies for equitable student engagement
- Experience working with graduate/professional school populations; comfort with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Word Press
- Experience with marketing and communication for events and trainings
- Exposure to the legal profession
