NOTE:
This position covers the area of Chelsea, East Boston, and Revere.
For over 100 years, Girl Scouts has empowered girls to lead, break barriers, and create positive change. At Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts (GSEMA), we foster a powerful all‑girl space that values collaboration over competition, inspiring girls to turn their dreams into reality.
Community Pathways Facilitator – part‑time, up to twelve (12) hours per week, with after‑school, evening, and weekend availability. Four (4) positions are open.
Responsibilities- Facilitate multiple weekly or bi‑weekly Girl Scout programs for new members in schools or community centers.
- Assist families and partners in registering girls and adults participating in programs.
- Mentor current and potential volunteers in implementing the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
- Serve as an advocate and liaison between community partners and GSEMA. Occasionally attend community events as a Girl Scout representative and table or facilitate a station at larger community events.
- Encourage Girl Scout decision‑making and leadership through positive activities and group mentoring.
- Facilitate participation in Girl Scout product sales.
- Communicate with full‑time Girl Scout staff via phone and email.
- Submit appropriate post‑meeting or event follow‑up such as surveys, leads, registration forms, and event debriefs.
- Attend virtual and in‑person trainings, meetings, and supervision as required.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Experience with Girl Scouting and/or working with groups of youth is desired.
- Ability and desire to work as part of a cooperative team and to work effectively with groups of Girl Scouts, community groups, volunteers, and staff.
- Comfortable reading and implementing curriculum.
- Enthusiasm and desire to provide a fun and enriching Girl Scout experience to all girls.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office and reliable access to internet.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, as necessary.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is highly preferred.
Must have access to reliable transportation to travel to community sites and GSEMA offices/service centers as needed. Reliable transportation includes, but is not limited to, a valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle or public transportation. Please note that not all potential work sites are easily accessible with public transport.
