Overview
The College of Arts, Media and Design (CAMD) at Northeastern University invites applications for an open-rank teaching professor or professor of the practice (non-tenure-track) in Public Relations, located at the Boston campus. We seek candidates who engage public relations and strategic communication as they relate to public life, civil society, and non-profits. Potential teaching areas include science and health communication, political messaging, misinformation, corporate communication, and crisis communication.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses including public relations strategies, social media, media advocacy, and data storytelling.
- Provide leadership for the public relations major and maintain industry connections in PR and strategic communication.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university service; work with global student populations.
- Graduate degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field by start date.
- For Professor of Practice, at least 10 years of professional accomplishment in PR.

Pay RangeAssistant Teaching Professor: $64,000 - $77,000;
Associate Teaching Professor: $70,000 - $84,000;
Teaching Professor: $90,000 - $101,000;
Professor of the Practice: $86,000 - $152,000. Starting salary depends on factors such as education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills, and is subject to change.
