Position Summary

Established in 1873, Arts and Sciences is Boston University's largest and most academically diverse unit, encompassing over 8,400 undergraduates, 2,000 graduate students, 800 faculty members, and 300 staff across 50 departments, programs, centers, and institutes. Our faculty are award‑winning researchers, innovative teachers, and dedicated mentors committed to exploring the complexities of our present and past, uncovering new perspectives, and crafting creative solutions to real‑world problems.

Our staff are dynamic, mission‑driven professionals who foster community, inclusion, and belonging to advance every aspect of the college enterprise. The Institute for Economic Development is a research center within the Department of Economics focused on issues like development economics, international economics, and political economy. It provides research and career support to economics graduate students. The IED coordinator works closely with the IED manager and faculty director in support of the center, as well as the department.

This includes supporting various events and opportunities, processing reimbursements, managing internal grant applications, and providing administrative support for faculty members. The IED coordinator serves as the department's primary marketing and communications administrator, creating, maintaining, and updating departmental media, such as websites, social media accounts, and newsletters. This position frequently engages with other staff coordinators, graduate students, faculty members, visitors, distinguished guests, alumni, and potential donors.

Required

Skills
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, and one to three years of experience.
