Position

With more than 50 years of academic excellence, Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) is Massachusetts' largest community college, annually welcoming a diverse community of around 16,000 students. • The primary responsibility of the tutor is to provide one‑on‑one or group support to students in an equitable fashion who are currently enrolled in English, Literature, and ESL courses.
• Assisting students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research and other academic assignments.
• Demonstrating academic best practices for specific subjects and assignments, including research and writing.
• Working with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom.
• Providing students positive and constructive feedback.
• Building meaningful connections with students from diverse backgrounds.

• A Bachelor's degree in English, Creative Writing, Communications, Literature, Education or a related area is required.
• A Master's degree is preferred.
• 1+ years of tutoring experience preferred.
• The tutor is needed Tuesday and Friday 9am to 5pm in-person.
• Ability to work independently.
• Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.

Hourly Rate: $35.31 (part‑time, non‑benefited)

Hours:

Up to 18.5 hours per week
