ELECTRONIC RESOURCES MANAGER, University Libraries

The Boston University Libraries seek an Electronic Resources Manager to oversee the licensing, acquisition, discovery, and management of the Library's electronic resources, including e‑books, e‑journals, databases, and other digital materials. The manager works collaboratively with librarians and university staff to promote the Library's online resources from acquisition to discovery and delivery, leading a team responsible for e‑resource acquisition, access, and troubleshooting.

• Licensing and Acquisitions:
  Negotiate terms and conditions for electronic resources licenses in coordination with the BU Libraries Collections Council; develop training materials and documentation for licensing best practices; build and maintain relationships with vendors and consortia; oversee annual reviews of continuing resources; monitor cost increases and support collection development with metrics.
• Management and Supervision:
  Supervise a team of four staff, evaluate performance, provide training and mentorship, perform quality control, and develop workflows.
• Access and Discovery:
  Support reliable access to electronic resources, lead troubleshooting of access issues, manage automated holdings updates, and provide expert assistance to library colleagues.
• Collaboration and Professional Practice:
  Stay current on best practices and emerging technologies; engage in professional development, publish, attend conferences, and participate in library committees and projects.

• Master's degree in library and information science or related field.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in electronic resources management, metadata, serials/continuing resources, or acquisitions.
• Experience with vendor communication, negotiation, and license agreement management.
• Strong understanding of scholarly electronic resources.
• Knowledge of COUNTER, SUSHI, OpenURL, EZproxy, and SSO.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Two or more years of supervisory experience.
• Experience with Ex Libris' Alma and Primo VE.
• Experience working with subscription agents on annual serial renewals.
• Familiarity with open access models, transformative agreements, and data licensing.
