Join Boston Public Schools as a Long Term Substitute Teacher - English and Moderate Disabilities/Inclusion, Grades 7-12 for the school year. This position is expected to start immediately and conclude on 06/20/2025. Please note that all substitute teachers are hired as per diem substitutes, even for long-term assignments, starting at the per diem rate of pay. Boston Public Schools seeks a highly qualified Special Education English Inclusion Teacher dedicated to serving our diverse student body. We foster an environment of high expectations, equal access to instruction, and closing achievement gaps.
Responsibilities- Implement district learning goals aligned with state frameworks and identify access points for student portfolio development.
- Provide small-group instruction for students with moderate to severe cognitive delays to ensure understanding and progress.
- Develop and implement IEP goals, and provide regular progress reports.
- Provide accommodations for learning and testing, develop curriculum, and prepare students for MCAS Alternative Assessments.
- Collaborate with staff to modify instruction and support student needs.
- Assist in transition planning to adult living services as appropriate.

- Bachelor's degree.
- Massachusetts Teaching License in appropriate content area and Moderate Disabilities for the grade level.
- Meet all state and federal licensing requirements and be Highly Qualified.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. by the first day of employment.
- Experience in urban schools.
- Degree in Special Education.
- ESL License or SEI Endorsement.
- Fluency in one of BPS's official languages (Spanish, Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Somali).
- Certification in subject area and Moderate Disabilities or ESL at the appropriate level.
