Job Overview

The School of Arts and Sciences seeks adjunct faculty to teach General Physics courses to health science majors for the upcoming Spring 2026 semester. All sections are taught as face‑to‑face, in‑person courses on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Successful candidates will have at least one semester of experience teaching at the college level.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging didactic instruction in face‑to‑face, in‑person classes
  • Provide engaging assignments that demonstrate real‑world applications of concepts covered
  • Prepare an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the School, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteria
  • Use the University’s learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials and to communicate with students
  • Advise and assist students through in‑person office hours or scheduled appointments, by video conference, phone or email, and through other University‑approved mechanisms
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (master's or above) in physics or allied discipline
  • Minimum of one semester of teaching at the college/university level
  • Commitment to undergraduate student success
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently and interact effectively with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, and administration/staff)
