The Department of Neurology is seeking a Headache Specialist to join our team at Tufts Medical Center.
In collaboration with our greater team of Neurologists within the Department managing headache cases, you will:
- Offer a high-level of expertise to our outpatient headache population;
- Directly manage patients with the highest complexity, refractory headache syndromes;
- Develop programs to help manage acute and worsening headache syndromes that minimize Emergency Department utilization, such as infusion center protocols;
- Support and develop protocols for elective inpatient admissions for refractory headaches (status migrainosus, autonomic/trigeminal neuralgic cephalgias);
- Increase procedures offered to patients with refractory headache syndromes, such as botulinum toxin, nerve blocks, etc.;
- Provide continuing education to Neurology clinicians on headache management to improve overall practice competency.
You will work within the Department of Neurology at Tufts Medicine in downtown Boston.
- Transforming patient care
. Provide care on the following services: TMC Neurology Boston clinic TMC Neurology Framingham clinic (if desired). - Teamwork. Work alongside many multidisciplinary partners and accomplished clinicians treating neurological diseases and training upcoming neurologists to do the same.
- Additional opportunities to participate in research, provide didactics to trainees, develop and modify institutional guidelines and policies, and participate in hospital-wide committees.
Part-time, one clinic session per week
RequirementsBC/BE in Neurology and Headache Medicine, with the ability to obtain a Massachusetts medical license. We seek a diverse faculty that reflects the diverse community of patients served by our institution.
CompensationTufts Medicine offers a competitive salary commensurate with academic training and practice experience. A Tufts University School of Medicine appointment will be offered commensurate with academic qualifications.
