The dental assistant reporting to the Patient Treatment Center Manager is an integral member of the Prosthodontic Clinical team, supporting residents in delivering quality dental care at Boston University School of Dental Medicine (BUGSDM). Responsibilities include practicing four-handed dentistry, preparing and disinfecting operatories, setting up for treatments, sterilizing instruments, managing inventory, taking radiographs, and providing coverage during evening clinic hours. The role requires compassion, excellent interpersonal skills, and teamwork to ensure a positive patient experience.
Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
Schedule:
Monday 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday to Friday 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM.
- Model proper patient management and communication with students.
- Maintain dental assisting licensure through ongoing CE courses.
- Maintain DANB certifications if applicable.
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Formal training through an accredited dental assisting program is highly preferred.
