The North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) is seeking 1 - 2 musical theatre instructors at our North End and/or Charlestown locations (please note our only our Charlestown location has parking on site). The instructor(s) should love teaching students ages 4 and above. Classes and production programs range from grades K1-1, 2 - 4, and 5 - 8. We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, organized, and are excellent at communication with both families and administration.

Teaching day(s) available:
Mondays, Tuesdays, and/or Thursday afternoons/evenings (between 3:10 - 6:30pm), including tech rehearsals and shows if teaching/directing our winter musical.
NEMPAC’s class sessions are split into three 10-week sessions throughout the year (Sept - Dec, Jan - March, and April - June). Each session has a culminating “shareformance” for students to share their progress, process, and growth with their families! Our Winter Musical includes an additional two tech rehearsals and two shows at the conclusion of the 10-week session in March, and our Spring musical includes an additional 2-4 tech rehearsals and shows in May.
Teaching Responsibilities:
- Teach engaging lessons in Musical Theatre
- Manage a classroom of up to 12 students
- For North End classes, pick students up from the local school at 3:10pm
- Mentor and supervise a teen teaching assistant.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians
- Complete and submit curriculum template worksheet.
- Set up and clean up classroom space each week.
- Take attendance in each class and sign students out with their authorized guardians.
- Ensure consistency in each student's learning.
- Attend occasional faculty meetings
- $50 - $52/hr if teaching more than one hour per day, depending on experience and education.
- $60/hr when teaching one hour or less per day.
- Separate stipend for production roles such as the Winter musical.
- An additional $2/hr will be added to the base rate should a teen teaching assistant be added to your responsibilities.
- An additional $100 per 10-week session if doing school pick-up.
- Employee/W2.

- Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted.
- Skilled in theatre or musical theatre education.
- Comfortable working with students ages 4 - 13.
- 2+ years of teaching experience, particularly in a classroom, and be committed to promoting the growth of the musical theatre program.
- Must be very well organized and have attention to detail.

- The NEMPAC organization is not able to sponsor O-1 or P-type visas for artists at this time. Career/job applicants must already possess valid U.S. work authorization to be considered for employment.
