SOCIAL MEDIA VIDEO PRODUCER, Community Engagement

Inside Higher Ed is seeking a Social Media Video Producer for its External Affairs division. The role reports to the Director of Social Media.

The Social Media Video Producer will:

• Create engaging and compelling short‑form video content for social media platforms that aligns with Boston University’s brand and strategy.
• Develop and execute video campaigns that drive engagement, incorporate current trends, and increase brand awareness.
• Highlight the university’s strategic priorities and institutional values of community, excellence, and inclusion.
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Social Media and other Public Relations Social Media team members.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

• Bachelor’s degree with 1–3 years of experience in content creation, focusing on short‑form or social media‑style video.
• Strong storytelling skills and ability to create compelling narratives.
• Experience filming videos on smartphones and professional cameras.
• Proficiency with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro.
• Experience with social media platforms:
  Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, Tik Tok, You Tube, You Tube Shorts.
• Knowledge of social media trends and best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Comfortable appearing and speaking in front of the camera.
• SEO skills are a plus.

Salary Grade: 45 (2025) – Expected Range: $48,075.00 – $60,625.00, based on qualifications, experience, and internal pay comparison.
