Photographer/Editor – CBS News and Stations (WBZ-TV / WSBK-TV, Boston, MA)
We are seeking an expert Photojournalist/Editor to join our dynamic news team. The ideal candidate brings strong visual storytelling skills, proficiency in videography and editing, and the ability to operate independently on assignment.
Responsibilities- Maintain assigned equipment, including news vehicles, cameras, lights, laptop editors, and related gear; perform repairs when necessary.
- Operate a broadcast ENG camera (25‑35 lbs), carrying support equipment such as tripod, lights, and microphones.
- Work scheduled shifts that may include early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Assist Managing Station Journalists (MSJs) during live shoots and assignments as needed.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a medium to large television market.
- Non‑linear editing experience with knowledge of file‑based video transfer.
- Experience as a News Photographer/Editor, operating live bonded cellular technology (Dejero and LiveU).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience with ENG and SNG live truck, and knowledge of live bonded cellular systems.
- Proven news judgment and strong writing skills.
- In‑house technical experience (ENG Receive, Floor Directing).
- Strong breaking news skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
- FAA Part 107 Commercial Drone certification is a plus.
