Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to support commercial interior construction projects, with a focus on drywall, framing, acoustical systems, and interior finishes. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and supporting the bidding and project handoff process. The ideal candidate will have strong technical estimating skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with project teams, vendors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial construction projects
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate pricing
- Establish labor productivity rates and evaluate project timelines and sequencing
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive bids
- Participate in bid reviews and collaborate with project managers and operations teams
- Assist with contract administration, change orders, and project documentation
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients
- Support the transition of awarded projects to operations teams for execution
- Utilize estimating software and tools to produce accurate and organized estimates
- Monitor market conditions, project risks, and other factors that influence pricing and margins
- Minimum of 2 years of construction estimating experience
- Experience estimating specialty construction scopes such as drywall, framing, acoustics, or interior finishes
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules
- Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software such as On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, Plan Swift, or similar tools
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and construction software such as Bluebeam or Procore
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related field
- Experience estimating commercial interior construction projects
- OSHA certification
- Experience working in union construction environments
