They are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Commercial Drywall Project Manager to join their team.
Position Overview: The Commercial Drywall Project Manager will oversee and manage the execution of drywall projects within the commercial construction sector. This includes managing timelines, budgets, resources, and ensuring that projects are completed to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive drywall experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Coordination:
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for commercial drywall projects.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs and specifications align with project requirements.
- Team Management:
- Lead and manage a team of drywall installers, finishers, and subcontractors.
- Supervise daily operations to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to quality standards.
- Conduct regular team meetings to monitor progress and resolve issues.
- Budget & Cost Control:
- Manage project budgets and monitor expenses to ensure that projects are completed within budget.
- Prepare cost estimates and track costs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and optimize project costs.
- Quality Control & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Perform regular site inspections to ensure work is progressing per specifications and quality standards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication throughout the project.
- Provide regular project updates and address client concerns promptly.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders to ensure future business opportunities.
- Problem-Solving & Issue Resolution:
- Identify potential project risks or issues early and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Resolve conflicts or issues between team members, clients, or subcontractors.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and financial records.
- Submit regular project reports to senior management, highlighting progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in drywall project management, ideally within the commercial construction industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale commercial drywall projects from start to finish.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of drywall installation and finishing techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Familiarity with construction codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, time management, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- OSHA 30-hour certification is preferred.
