Role Overview

The Family Childcare Early Educator Supervisor is responsible for the leadership, guidance, and oversight of daily operations within a family childcare setting. This role ensures the provision of a high-quality, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children, while also supporting the professional growth of educators and fostering strong partnerships with families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and supervise engaging, age-appropriate educational programs that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Provide direct supervision, guidance, training, and mentorship to early educators, fostering a positive, collaborative, and supportive team environment.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and stimulating physical environment in accordance with EEC licensing and other regulatory guidelines. Conduct regular inspections with FCC coordinators and maintain safety protocols.
  • Oversee the process of regularly assessing children's development and progress, adapting teaching strategies and the curriculum to meet individual needs.
  • Maintain open and cooperative communication with parents, providing updates on their child's development and addressing concerns to build strong family-program partnerships. Person will work closely with Family Focus staff.
  • Ensure that the family childcare programs complies with all applicable state and local regulations, including health, safety, and licensing requirements.
  • Respond to and document any incidents or concerns related to children, and report suspected abuse to the appropriate DCF supervisor, and FCC office staff.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Master’s Degree and experience in early childhood education and childcare.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, staff, and families.
  • Knowledge of child development, curriculum planning, and early childhood education best practices.
  • Ability to ensure and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Must have car and a valid driver’s license.
  • Provide other duties as needed.
