About

this Role

The Inter-American Development Bank is offering a 2026 Summer Internship Program designed for graduate students with a keen interest in public policy and economics. This internship at the IDB’s headquarters aims to provide participants with professional-level work experience in development work and corporate management. Interns will engage in supporting operations in Latin America and the Caribbean, focusing on enhancing the effectiveness of public policies through innovative strategies and analytical methods.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support to operational teams across LAC countries in project preparation and review of reports.
  • Analyze various databases, implementing data management and analysis techniques.
  • Contribute to the design and monitoring of strategies using econometric methods for policy evaluation.
  • Support the development of theories of change and evidence maps.
  • Participate and provide input in meetings with stakeholders and local counterparts.
  • Prepare knowledge proposals, reports, and presentations to support project effectiveness and knowledge agendas.
Requirements
  • Be a national of an IDB member country.
  • Active enrollment in a graduate economics program.
  • Fluency in English; working knowledge of Spanish, French, or Portuguese is a plus.
  • Experience with data management, econometric methods, and analysis.
  • Not have family members working at the IDB, up to the fourth degree of consanguinity.
