According to John Owen, co-founder of Jet Blue and investor at De-Ice, “the best way to save money for an airline is to run a reliable, on-time schedule, and current-state de-icing makes this impossible.”

De-Ice is an MIT spin-out that’s developed an electric de-icing solution that will solve this problem. This eliminates the need for the aircraft to hold on the ground for 30-45 minutes or more while workers in bucket trucks spray heated toxic fluids on the aircraft.

The Strategy, Operations, and Finance MBA Intern will work closely with the leadership team and client stakeholders on a variety of projects. Areas of focus will include developing and delivering product presentations to airlines and partners, financial/market models, product roll-out plans, etc.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Development of product presentations and materials:
  Create and deliver compelling product presentations highlighting business value proposition and high-level technical capabilities for customer, partner, and government stakeholders.
• Product roll-out:
  Develop a detailed roll-out schedule by working with engineering team as well as customer, supply chain, and operations partners.
• Financial planning:
  Work on the company’s corporate financial model, create company forecasts, and support annual planning and quarterly budgeting process.
• Business Plan assessment:
  Create business plans, business cases, and financial models to help De-Ice evaluate the potential paths to achieve overall business growth.
• Supporting company leadership internally:
  Develop board materials.

• The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years in a professional role such as banking, consulting, or industry.
• Current MBA candidate.
• Bachelor’s degree in physics, math, or engineering preferred.
• Experience with creating compelling presentations and modelling required.
• High degree of work product and project ownership, accountability, and autonomy.
• Experience in a B2B industry preferred.

This position is for our Boston office; remote candidates will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
