About the RoleAs a People Operations summer intern, you will have the chance to learn about every aspect of People Ops at Butcher Box, including salary benchmarking, learning & development, office management, employee experience, talent acquisition, immigration, and more.
The ideal candidate will have a collaborative, ready-for-anything attitude combined with an analytical mind and an interest in using feedback and other data to help us relentlessly improve our people strategy.
Your summer experience will involve attending team meetings as a full member of our People Ops team, shadowing and helping with different functions within our department, and culminating with a final project that you present to the whole company based on your accomplishments.
This is a full time, temporary position from June 6th to August 14, 2026. You will be on a hybrid schedule, working out of our Watertown, MA office a minimum of two days a week. Compensation is $22/hour.
Responsibilities- Analyze market trends in compensation, benefits, and office attendance policies and assess how we compare to similar companies
- Analyze recruiting metrics such as time to hire and help establish benchmarks and goals
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed
- Assist with office management tasks as needed
- Participate as a member of the People Operations team, attending team meetings and shadowing on various cross-functional projects
- Participate as a member of the 2026 Summer Intern Cohort, attending weekly professional development and collaboration seminars
- Excellent communication skills
- Curious, proactive mindset
- High level of attention to detail and organization
- High EQ and ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism
- Comfort level with Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook
- Interest in mission-driven organizations/B Corp a plus!
