* Enrolled in a degree program leading to a Bachelors degree in a scientific field, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or a related field. Graduates may also be qualified if they are enrolled in an advanced degree program.
* Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with multiple, competing priorities.
* Understanding of the scientific method and scientific concepts.
* Prior internship experience in the medical/pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry, or in communications.
* Ability to deliver results with limited direction and guidance and on tight deadlines - a self-starter.
* Highly motivated and energetic.
* Strong work ethic and tenacity.
* Capacity to work full-time onsite in Boston, MA.
* Legal authorization to work in the United States, now and in the future. Please note that Vertex does not provide sponsorship for internships or entry level roles within this part of the organization.
* You must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before December 2026.
* You must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from July – December 2026.

* Recognition of National Intern Day The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.

Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
