Business Development Manager – US (Cell & Gene Therapy / Drug Delivery Platform)
Remote (US-based, Boston area preferred) | 10–20% travel

An innovative, science-led biotech company is expanding its US commercial presence and is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead out-licensing and partnership development for a breakthrough targeted delivery platform.
This is a high-visibility role reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, offering the opportunity to shape US growth strategy and build a robust partnership pipeline across oncology, cardiology, and advanced therapy programs.

You will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and progressing partnerships across biotech, pharma, and advanced therapy developers in the US. This role combines strategic market development with hands-on execution across the full BD lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, prioritize, and engage potential partners for platform out-licensing
- Leverage your CGT / novel modality network to initiate high-value discussions
- Lead early engagement, technical deep dives, and support contracting processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Regulatory, QA, Marketing, and Leadership
- Own and manage the US deal funnel with structured reporting and forecasting
- Represent the company at major partnering conferences and industry events
- 3–5 years’ experience in Business Development, Key Account Management, Product Management, or Partnering within biotech, advanced therapies, CRO/CDMO, or medical device
- Scientific background (MSc or PhD in Life Sciences required)
- Established US network within cell & gene therapy or novel modality community
- Experience in out-licensing, platform partnerships, or technology-based BD
- Strong understanding of drug delivery, CGT modalities, or clinical development workflows
- Proven ability to manage complex partner discussions and move opportunities forward
- Experience working cross-functionally with technical and commercial stakeholders
- Commercially driven with a strong bias for action
- Structured, independent, and comfortable navigating ambiguity
- Confident communicator across scientific, technical, and executive audiences
- Relationship-focused with a long-term partnership mindset
- Energized by growth environments and building something meaningful
